Our ages are characterized by complexity (globalization, multicultural societies, new technology, economic crisis ) which has created new needs for (young ) members of society . School as a socializing and training institution is forced to make changes by which face the new order.
As we are concerned, the necessity of school to succeed in the new historical context and the importance of the teaching.
More specifically we attempt to study what is the educational policy in a modern age and particularly in Greece today.
Greece is a member of European Union. That means it has some privileges and responsibilities. One of them is to implement a common Educational policy at studies. (Maastricht 7/2/92

1. The Community shall contribute to the development of quality education by encouraging co-operation between Member States and, if necessary, by supporting and supplementing their action, while fully respecting the responsibility of the Member States for the content of teaching and the organization of education systems and their cultural and linguistic diversity.

Community action shall be aimed at developing the European dimension in education, particularly through the teaching and dissemination of the languages of the Member States - encouraging mobility of students and teachers, inter alia by encouraging the academic recognition of diplomas and periods of study;)
In order to studying teaching in Greece (or another Member States) we ought to take under consideration except for national and the European dimension of it. For this reason, what is the European Educational Policy for primary school would be the second point of this search?
At the end, we would comprise Greek educational policy at primary school with the European guidelines .
