"Teachers' views on crisis management due to natural disasters in the school unit "

This dissertation examines teachers' views on crisis management in the school unit due to natural disasters and school readiness. It consists of two parts. The first part of the dissertation includes the theoretical background, which describes and analyzes on the one hand the notion of natural disasters (earthquakes, fires, floods, winds, snow) and on the other hand the ways of managing the crises that occur in the school unit as a result of these disasters. The second part includes the survey conducted in April of 2020. The sample of the research consists of 100 teachers and Principals of Public Primary Schools in the first catchment of Athens. An anonymous questionnaire via Google was used to conduct the survey, proving teachers' views on crisis management in the school unit due to natural disasters. According to the survey, teachers consider that they face crises in the schools they serve and need to be trained in crisis management. With its findings, it intends to contribute to the taking of appropriate measures, so that the school to be a safe environment for students and teachers. Finally, the appendix includes the questionnaire, the manual of anti-seismic design and protection organization and the internal regulations of the school unit.
