There is frequently no defined battlefield, and in most modern conflicts, civilians are directly targeted leading to a marked increase in pediatric injuries and deaths. Millions of children have been disabled or killed by this indiscriminate use of force. The conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, Syria and Yemen, paint a stark portrait of the effects of war on children.
