Summary:
Infertility nowadays is a burning topic of discussion and research. The fields that have begun to be studied are many and employ a large part of the research community. In the present study, the effect of miRNA-27a (miR-27a) expression on ovarian granulosa cells was studied, as well as its association with general infertility characteristics and the response of women to infertility treatments. According to the results, moderate to low expression of the studying gene was found. Attempts to correlate these results with infertility data did not result in any significant correlation, which may be due to the small number of samples. However, there are apoptotic mechanisms associated with apoptosis of granulosa cells and various miRNAs including miR-27a. Further study of this relationship may suggest a correlation between the expression of miR-27a, and consequently other miRNAs, in granulosa cells and the effect on a woman's fertility generally.
