Summary:
The purpose of the present study was the design and development of an app, in order to record and view nursing handovers, within a hospital department. The primary objectives of the app are recording and updating handovers per patient with simultaneous having an easy and fast-automated search of current and previous handovers. Firstly, the meaning of nursing documentation is defined and the application’s requirements are analyzed. For the purpose of the study, a web application was developed using web technologies of google such as firebase which enables you to build a NoSQL database. Flutter was used to build the app because it supports both ios and android platforms with one codebase. App development was done with flutter that uses dart language. Special emphasis is given to the user interface, while at the same time a focus group is conducted in order to evaluate the application. The results show that the application is indeed positively evaluated.
