Screening of chromosomal abnormalities in pregnancy
Summary:
Introduction - Purpose: Prenatal screening is an aspect of prenatal care that focuses
on detecting pregnancy-related problems at the earliest possible stage. In the present
work, based on the systematic citation and processing of modern bibliographic reports,
a brief review of the methods of screening chromosomal abnormalities in pregnancy is
attempted, with particular emphasis on rapidly evolving non-invasive intravenous
intravenous examination without omitting classical - and in some cases forced.
Material - Method: The material of the work was extracted from International, Greek
bibliography and articles but also from the Internet using officially recognized sources.
Conclusions: Prenatal testing consists of a series of tests, which are performed at the
beginning of pregnancy in order to ensure the good health of the fetus and the mother.
The ways in which the test is performed are either invasive or non-invasive. At the same
time, efforts are being made to introduce new molecular methods of analyzing the
genetic material of the fetus in the prenatal routine diagnosis in order to reduce costs
and actions in pregnancy in cases where there is no risk through proper diagnosis of
diseases that occur in a pregnancy.
