Η Θεραπευτική Ιππασία ως μια Διαφορετική Προσέγγιση Παρέμβασης και Εκπαίδευσης σε παιδιά με Διαταραχή Φάσματος του Αυτισμού
Translated title:
Therapeutic Riding as a Different Approach to Intervention and Education in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder
Summary:
The purpose of this paper is to present the benefits of a non-particularly prevalent alternative treatment for Greek contexts, therapeutic riding. In particular, it examined whether and how therapeutic riding affects children on the autism spectrum through the study of international literature and sought to shed light on the mechanisms by which the horse becomes the means to achieve the healing process. Through the citation of modern research, an attempt is made to demonstrate the value of therapeutic riding with specific interventions and the results they have in the social interaction of autistic children, in their communication with others and in their stereotypical interests. This is important because there is a need for more options in the field of autism intervention, so that the quality of life of both the child and his family can be improved as much as possible.
