Introduction to the social and political philosophy of Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari: Fundamental concepts and distinctions
Summary:
The social and political philosophy of Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari is still an active field of activity, from which a creative multiplicity of theories emerges. This is because their collaborative work transcends the fields of philosophy, art and science, offering a political philosophy that exceeds traditional social and political philosophy, as it includes elements from all areas of human intellect and seeks to explain the way the world is made up. Politics, according to Deleuze and Guattari, is in the field of practice and permeates all fields of human activity and intellect. Their philosophy is characterized by a constant flow and change of its terms, as all concepts interact with other concepts and are in a constant becoming. We could say that their philosophy brings to the surface the relationship that exists between the molecular field of flows and the molar field of fixed forms, in order to highlight the flow of becomings that characterizes reality. Based on the above, the present study aims to analyze the fundamental concepts and distinctions of their political philosophy, as they are highlighted mainly through their collaborative work "A Thousand Plateaus", the second volume of "Capitalism and Schizophrenia". Starting from some main distinctions of their social and political philosophy, such as the distinction between molecular and molar field or the distinction between micropolitical and macropolitical, we seek to explore concepts such as creation, desire and revolution. Through the present study, we want to point out the distinctions and dualities that appear in the work of Deleuze and Guattari as the coexistence of two different states in becoming, which interact and intertwine at all times. It is a philosophy in becoming, which aims to create new fields of thought that go beyond resistance to creation.
