The effects of divorce on preschool children in the school context. The contribution of the school counselor.

This thesis deals with the effects of divorce on preschool children, as well as the crucial role of the school counselor in supporting these children. Essentially, the essay consists of two main parts. On the one hand, the theoretical approach of concepts, such as, the institution of the family, divorce situations, parent-child relationships, the effects of divorce on their mental composition and on the other hand, the catalytic role of the educational community with adoption of the institution of the school counselor as a factor in providing assistance in the management of the above situations. Considering the theoretical background of the above issues and at the same time focusing on the implementation practices within the school, the work reasonably concludes on the great importance of the school counselor and the positive outcomes of the counselling practices on preschool children.
