Summary:
This dissertation was comprised as part of the postgraduate course "Theory and Practice of the Educational Work" during the academic year 2019-2020. The object of my study is presenting the process of summarizing a text, describing the techniques of speech condensing, and comparing the informative and the schematic summary. The methodological approach implemented, in terms of the theoretical framework, is that of searching, processing, analyzing, and evaluating information, which was accumulated from a variety of printed and electronic sources. Applying interventional teaching, an attempt was made to compare the teaching of informative and schematic summary in the classes of the 3rd Gymnasium and the 1st Lyceum. A questionnaire was used, which was distributed to two different schools focusing mainly on seeking students' opinions on the difficulties of composing summary texts.
