Summary:
The main theme of this master- thesis is the analysis of legislation and implementation of capital punishment against political crime offenders in Greece, with respect to conceptual meaning of political crime, and also the analytical determination of approaches and perceptions of all the parties concerned, with emphasis on the post-Civil War period. Specifically, main research objective was to highlight the connection between political criminality and the death penalty, concerning provision and implementation of the latter, since the foundation of the modern Greek State until the abolition of capital punishment through the Law nr.2172/1993, as the originality of this thesis lies on multi-faceted criminological enlightenment of this phenomenon, especially through the enhancement of sentenced persons’, ruling powers’, Press’, society’s and artists’ approach, which is feasible through the analysis of secondary data.
