Postmodernism and metafiction in the prose of Giannis Makridakis: The stucture the enigma in the orientation of caltural allegory

The aim of the present thesis is to investigate the degree of influence of the philosophy and style of postmodernism and metafiction in the prose of Giannis Makridakis. After a brief presentation of the basic theoretical positions of the postmodern, an attempt is made to highlight the convergences of Makridakis through the study of his overall work but also by focusing on novels with the enigma structure that function as cultural allegories, in a conversation with international concerns. The subject of a more detailed study is the novel Sun with Teeth on the issues of distinctness that are approached by the author from the multifaceted perspective of modern trends. At the same time, the discrepancies of Makridakis are investigated, through which his peculiar position between modernism and postmodernism is evidenced.
