study of the relations between the humidity changes of the upper troposphere and the changes of the tropopause in the northern latitudes

The aim of the present work is to examine whether the variations of the humidity of the upper troposphere, and the variations of the tropopause and specifically of its temperature and pressure in the northern latitudes are related or not. Chapter 1 introduces the theory of humidity, its categories and the changes that is subject to due to various factors. Chapter 2 lists the sources of humidity data for the upper troposphere, as well as temperature and pressure of the tropopause , for which further information is provided on their effect on climatology. The methodology applied for the processing and comparison of the data is also described.
Chapter 3 presents the analysis of the humidity of the upper troposphere , the temperature and pressure data of the tropopause and examines the correlation or not of the three parameters, after subtracting the mean seasonal cycle from the initial values. The data cover a time series of 36 years (from 1979 to 2014). The correlation is studied through diagrams and tables showing the correlation coefficients. Examination of the relationships shows that the values of the anomalies of the three parameters are exhibiting small correlations in the large geographical zones studied, except for individual months, such as the summer months and in the zone of 30-40 ° Ν.
