Summary:
In the eastern Mediterranean during the upper Quaternary period, the sea level changes are illustrated in the stratigraphic records and therefore, we can detect these changes through sedimentation and core data by relating the various lithostratigraphic phases with the already published paleodepths and the isotopic level curved. During these graduate phases, gravity core data from the Gulf of Mirambello were analyzed of its magnetic susceptibility, carbonate content and granulometry and were presented in diagrams. During Core analysis of M-15-228, a sapropelic layer corresponding to the well-established S1 sapropel of the eastern Mediterranean was identified at 105-140cm of the core length. Moreover, a well-developed interval of mud with tephra and crypto tephra fragments were observed at 50-62cm of the core length. This tephra layer is probably associated with the Minoan explosive eruption of the Santorini volcano
