Summary:
This paper aims to explore Tutors’ professional commitment in relation to their predispositions, attitudes and perceptions, through qualitative research in the modern educational context. This research focuses on the links between teachers’ commitment and their expectations and attitudes towards work, whether this commitment affects behavior and partner relationships, and determines their existence, social status and recognition. Research results outline the skills that tutors develop during teaching practice according to modern pedagogical theories, strategies and techniques, the extent to which school leadership unit exerts transformative or distributive tactics, the support and mutual support that teachers enjoy, the latters’ relationships with students and parents, their personal perception of professional commitment and dedication with reference to service time and increased qualifications, but also the short comings of the Greek educational system.
