Summary:
The current thesis is divided into three sections.
The first section includes the first two chapters, in which the existing literature is presented, as far as music topology and mathematical music theory are concerned, ie the graphic representation of harmony.
In addition, the attempt to redefine the concept of the "colour of sound" is presented, in which the term takes on a more universal meaning from the existing one which states that the "colour of sound" refers
exclusively to the sound tone of a specific instrument (timbre). Defining the concept of sound color as a combination of different basic tonal centers and attempting to measure the topological distance between said centers are
very important, because in this way the thesis passes to the second and main section, in which the development of the system of the enlarged Circle of the Fifth as well some of its basic functions are described,
in the form of three main examples. The last section of the presented thesis concerns the presentation of the conclusions that emerge from the study of the examples in the second sections.
In addition, ways of how this study can be continued are included.
