Η εξωτερική πολιτική της μακεδονικής δυναστείας από την εποχή του Ρωμανού Β΄ έως τον θάντο της Θεοδώρας Πορφυρογέννητης (959-1056)
Translated title:
Τhe foreign policy of the macedonian dynasty from the age of Romanus II to the death of Theodora Porphyrogeneta (959-1056)
Summary:
During the 98 years from the time of Romanus II until the death of Theodora Porphyrogeneta (959-1056), the expansion of the boundaries of the byzantine territory to the mainland of Asia Minor and the Balkan Peninsula was achieved, as well as the control of the Aegean Sea and the eastern Mediterranean was regained. The most important events of this long period are presented with the focus on the external political goals of the emperors of the Macedonian dynasty, as these goals were shaped through multilevel transformational processes within the byzantine state and significant geopolitical changes in the steadily unstable geopolitical environment of the studied period.
