Interoperability of health information systems and security of patients information
Summary:
The integration of computers in the health systems was considered important and proved necessary in order to improve the provided services, reduce the bureaucracy, facilitate the management, as well as to endorse the development of new medical techniques, more comprehensive treatment plans and to provide the citizens accessibility and security of their information in the system. The more information the users insert in the system, the higher the technological development within it. In this paper, through a literature review, we highlight the importance of information systems and their interoperability in the health system. The main goal of interoperability is the improvement of patient health and the security of the patient data entered in the system.
The health care information systems need to improve their ability to exchange, edit and interpret mutual data and information between systems.
