Summary:
The trend of continuous smartphone connectivity, which is not limited to young adults, has turned parties and politicians to increasingly using social media as the main platform for conveying campaign and political messages. This connection of the political sector with advertising and social media was the main reason for choosing to explore the use of the Instagram application as a political communication tool during the pre-election period of the European and National elections of 2019. Studying the cases of two different politicians, the characteristic of the constant contrast and synthesis between the global trends and the national peculiarities of the country is re-established.
