Summary:
The purpose of this thesis is to study and develop an ERP type web application in order to meet the resource management needs of a company. The ERP environment will be offered through a network platform (website) which can be visited by authorized users to manage the business database. Indicatively, the platform will perform functions such as human resource management, salesmonitoring andcontrol of the production process.
The business resource management platform will be implemented via Ampps server using WordPress, Apache Web server, MySQL database management system and PHP programming language for creating pages with dynamic content. Regarding the software technologies of an ERP system, an extensive analysis is performed, as through this platform personnel data, sales and financial data will be registered, and the information that we are looking for is retrieved from the databases and displayed on the website.
The integration of the possibility of solving linear optimization programming problems in the site will also be studied and implemented. Specifically, a problem of employees’ cost minimization will be studied in order to meet the demand for the services that are to be provided.
Finally, the possibility of interconnecting ERP systems with SCADA systems is investigated.
