Summary:
This present dissertation attempts to present the ways with which the female sex is represented in newspapers of the city of Agrinio. These representations occur in the context of movements and actions between the private and public space. There is an effort to follow the historical, social and cultural route of this city and to observe how the changes of the two sexes are imprinted commercially, financially as well as about population in an evolving provincial city, such as Agrinio. The choice of the study time frame of this present dissertation is connected with the reclassifications that take place in the Greek territory from 1955 to 1985.The method which was used concerning the processing of the material is a more general type of the method of « Context Analysis» and of the instrument of qualitative research while concerning the processing and the interpretation of the results, the technique of categorical analysis of the material is utilized.The dissertation is structured in 8 chapters. The appendix follows containing interviews, photo gallery and bibliography.
