Summary:
Since one and a half year, a new pandemic has spread throughουt the world, as a result of SARS-COV2. Until now, the planet counts million of patients but also million of victims.
The present manuscript, orders to review the literature of the first months of this pandemic. First of all, the clinical features of COVID 19 are prescribed, with reports from chinese, french and italian hospitals. Then, prognostic clinical signs that feature patients with serious disease are analyzed, so the laboratory results and the medical images, as the comorbidities.
Furthermore, we know that a small percentage of all patients will be hospitalized in ICU. These patients share similar features. Ending, the importance of comorbidities is clarified.
Unfortunatelly, at the time this part of the literature was published, no therapy and no treatment of choice for the new corona virus was found. Clarithromycin, a drug with immunomodulatory properties, used for respiratory infections, , was used in tertiary hospitals in Greece against covid 19, and proved that can protect from developmet into severe disease. ACHIEVE open label trial, is analyzed at the end of the paper.
