Employee motivation and performance are essential tools for the success of any organization in
the long run. It has been shown to have a positive relationship between employee motivation and
organizational effectiveness, which has been reflected in numerous studies.
The main purpose of the present study is to study job satisfaction and incentive methods, and to
what extent they apply to private sector workers compared to those in the public sector in
Greece. Initially, the needs of workers as formulated through motivational theories were
analyzed, many of which are described in Chapter 2. Next, the third chapter discusses the
motivation techniques and motivations that, according to the literature, play an important role in
public and private life. private sector. Conducting research, the methodology of which is described
in Chapter 4, aims at identifying factors that, in the view of employees, can act as motivators,
thereby contributing to an increase in employment interest and thus to higher performance. In
addition, Chapter Five explored whether organizations are implementing appropriate strategies to
motivate employees and whether they feel satisfied. Finally, the results of the responses of public
and private sector workers in Greece were compared and some conclusions were made in the last
chapter.
