Summary:
The object of this senior thesis is the geological study of the sacred rock of Acropolis, Athens and the building stones of antiquity which are composed. The hill of Acropolis and its monuments have a long history related to morphological and geological features (hydrogeology, karst caves), which are directly related to Greek mythology and are analysed in detail. On the hill of Acropolis we find a variety of monuments which are studied in terms of their structural elements and their evolution over time.
