Environmental hazards and their consequences on children's health
Summary:
The impact of environmental hazards on human health is considered to be an area of great importance, specifically its influence during childhood, as it may alternate the developmental path of the individual. Children are especially vulnerable when envi-ronmental risks are presented. The amplified rate of development as well as their min-imized physical size and weight contribute to their elevated sensitivity compared to adults.
Quantifying the health impacts related to environmental hazards for children’s health is essential in order to prioritize interventions that prevent and conquer their multiple consequences. The environmental hazards presented in developing and developed countries are highly different, therefore their separated description is required. Through the analysis of their differentiated aspects and their multiple impacts effective policies may be presented, protecting children’s health and ensuring their growth and wellness.
