Immigrant & Roma integration policies in Greece from 1980 until today
Summary:
Research in intercultural education is challenged by the growing presence of immigrants in the Greek school. This research explores integration policies that validate multiculturalism as well as measures to implement interculturalism in Greece, in order to highlight the rights of immigrants in all aspects of their lives. In a normatively structured society, such as Athens, acculturation is being investigated, with the aim of influencing social and individual factors in the types of school adaptation for the construction of a complete ethnocultural identity. Through the management of personal time, it is clear that both immigrants and Roma seek recognition of their rights and their survival in a socially recognized society.
