The Ιnternational Protection of Vulnerable Groups Under Crisis Conditions
Summary:
This doctoral dissertation analyses the concept of vulnerability in the context of international protection. Although numerous legislative instruments aim to protect the rights of vulnerable groups, in reality there are significant shortcomings in the protection of their rights, especially when accessing asylum. This dissertation documents the legal solutions provided by international, EU and Greek law to regulate the status of vulnerable groups, with a focus on applicants and beneficiaries of international protection. Lastly, this dissertation formulates de lege ferenda proposals for the effective protection of vulnerable groups’ rights.
