"Climate change and humanitarian crisis: the phenomenon and adaptation policies in Europe
Summary:
Human mobility in the context of the climate crisis we are experiencing is one of the most important and complex challenges of modern international environmental governance. The political world has responded to this issue through different frameworks, approaches and possible solutions, recognizing its high importance and complex nature. This paper attempts to explain the broader picture of humanitarian movement in the context of climate change. Contains serological and conceptual clarifications, examines existing regulatory frameworks and the role of international organizations and other government initiatives in governance and tackling efforts. It then focuses on the European Union's efforts to meet this challenge, examining both existing adaptation measures, new perspectives and the reasons why it has so far failed in its mission to create an adequate framework for managing human mobility in the context of climate change.
