Management and Information Systems in Supply Chain
Summary:
The object of this thesis is to determine the role of information systems in logistics based on the efficient operation of the company and human resources. In the first chapter, we will define the concept of logistics and supply chain through definitions and their basic functions. The second chapter concerns the management, more specifically; it refers to how logistics help in shaping the strategy and the competitive advantage of the company. Then, in the third chapter, a reference is made to information systems, their meaning, types of information systems and their operating costs. The fourth chapter presents the systems used in the supply chain. A brief reference is made to their characteristics, advantages and disadvantages resulting from their use. Finally, the fifth chapter examines the results of a primary research on the prevailing trends for SCM operations, but at the same time analyzes the view of supply chain employees on the implementation of information systems.
