Translated title:
The Impact of Movement on Temple Sacredness
Summary:
The aims of this dissertation were to assess the evidence and impact of movement on temple sacredness in ancient Greece in view of examples of temple displacement, movement and reconstruction. The scope of the dissertation include case studies of temples, altars and other architectural material, which were subject to questions of displacement, perhaps affecting the
inherent aspect of sacredness. These case studies are guided by discussion of architectural material and meaning with respect to sacredness.
