Summary:
The following dissertation deals with the detection of otherness in the textbooks of the language course in the 3rd and 4th grade in the modern Greek reality. For this reason, an attempt is made to clarify the term of otherness and kinship, identity and to present the different approaches to otherness by the Greek educational system. What emerged from the analysis of the aforementioned textbooks is, on the one hand, the small, proportionate, reference and engagement with the "foreign" element and, on the other hand, the relentless insistence on strengthening the Greek identity and the Greek element.
