Translated title:
The professional commitment of teachers and their general health
Summary:
Teachers practice a profession that faces many challenges on a daily basis. Colleagues, the school principal, students, their workload and striving for maximum performance are some of them. All of these significantly affect their health, both physical and mental. However, despite the difficulties, many teachers are dedicated and committed to their profession and this commitment in turn brings its own consequences such as the impact on their state of health and their educational work. This paper is a literature review, which will analyze the concepts of professional commitment and health. Initially, the first chapter will refer to the definition of professional commitment and in particular the professional commitment of teachers and how it can be measured. The factors that affect it as well as its consequences will be clarified, while its relationship with professional satisfaction will also be examined. In the second chapter, the definition of health and mental health will be mentioned. Then the effect of work on employees and especially on teachers is studied. An analysis is made of their physical and mental health problems and how these problems can be treated. Finally, the third chapter will examine the relationship between professional commitment and physical and mental health, emotions, and social well-being.
