Summary:
The purpose of this study is to compare and identify differences between Greco-Roman wrestlers and freestyle wrestlers. In order to fulfill the objectives of the work, reference will be made to historical elements of sports in the regulations as well as to the differences between the two styles (kinetic, functional, dynamic). The method carried out in this work is based on bibliographic research. The method carried out in this work is based on bibliographic research. The method concerned the study of the existing literature in order to be used in theoretical conclusions. The information regarding the bibliographic part of the work was retrieved from the search for articles from web pages (Google Scholar). The articles concerned the styles of Greco-Roman and freestyle wrestling as well as the differences between the two styles. The articles used were related to the topic of the paper and were in English. Those elements that served the objectives of the work were translated and used. Greco-Roman wrestlers had significantly higher levels of relative leg strength, maximum arm strength, relative maximum arm strength, and relative average arm strength than freestyle wrestlers (p <0.05). Greco-Roman wrestlers were significantly faster, had better flexibility and had a higher level of endurance on their feet than freestyle wrestlers.
