Summary:
Abstract
The subject of this dissertation is to present the main seismotectonic zones of Greece. Through the dissertation, it is attempted to indicate the main seismic zones.
Furthermore, the geotectonic regime and the tectonic conditions which contributed to the seismic activity of each area are presented. Each seismic zone was analyzed during the instrumental period (1900 to 2021), as well as its seismic regime, based on the literature.
More specifically, the above-mentioned maps were prepared, by seismological data during the period 1900 to 2021, which were collected by the Laboratory of Geophysics and Geothermic of the Geology and Geoenviroment Department of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. The composition of seismological maps carried out through the ArcGIS 10.1 software. Finally, they are presented the conclusions from this study.
