Summary:
The purpose of the Master Thesis entitled “The Contribution of Fire Safety in the Preventive Measures of Safety: The case of Banks” is the investigation and analysis of fire protection in buildings and services in Greece, and more specifically, in banks. In the Master Thesis, a description of fires in the Urban Environment of Greece will be provided, as well as a description of the Fire Service actions in buildings of different uses. The promotion of fire safety measures is extremely important, and their implementation helps to prevent the risk of a possible fire in a building or to deal with it in case of occurrence.
In the Master Thesis, the Legal Framework regarding the fire protection of buildings and services in Greece will be investigated. In addition, the number of urban fires that have occurred in recent years as well as the survivors and properties that were not affected by the catastrophic events will be examined. The fire protection measures that will be taken will be presented and the necessity of informing and educating the employees about them will be highlighted. Finally, it will be investigated whether the fire safety measures are followed in banks specifically, whether the proper training of the employees is applied and whether the necessary fire safety controls are carried out.
