Summary:
The first chapter of this paper deals with the anthropology of women and
gender studies, analyzing issues of theory and methodology, reaching
gender and identity.
The second chapter focuses on the concept of performance and the performing arts in general, concluding on the theater and its relationship with gender and in particular the relationship between theater and women.
The third chapter refers the Takarazuka Theater. In this chapter, I proceed to the analysis of the Japanese social context and culture, methods and techniques
followed by Takarazuka actresses, in roles and identities, as well as the existence of homosexual attraction on and off stage.
