Examination of the possibility of resolution of mass claims arisen in the field of maritime casualties by resorting to alternative forms of resolution, in particular arbitration. The research focuses on two categories of casualties generating mass claims in the wider field of maritime law: casualties (in the broadest sense) involving passengers in the maritime transport of persons and their contract-based claims and ship-source pollution casualties and the consequent tort-based claims of the various categories of injured parties.
