Kick Boxing is a well known sport with increasingly big audience. The goal is to inflict decisive and frequent blows on the opponent and as a result injuries are common to occur. The most common site of injury is the head, followed by the lower limbs. The most serious injury that can occur is a brain injury. Amateurs athletes have a higher chance of injury than professionals due to their reduced defensive ability. There are strategies to deal with injuries and they involve the use of mouth and head protection, but also the use of bandages and larger gloves on the hands.
