Summary:
Rape culture is a socio-political phenomenon that affects all genders, as it affects their interactions. In Greece, with the appearance of the #MeToo movement in January 2021, there began to be mass mobilizations and this phenomenon took the spotlight. Factors that contribute to rape culture are traditional gender roles, aggressive sexual beliefs, acceptance of violence, sexism and hostility towards women. The purpose of this research is to understand through the narrative of the participants how they experience rape culture in their lives. The research method chosen was the qualitative one, specifically the Biographical - Narrative Interview with ten women. The narrative method was used to analyzed the collected data. The results of the research highlighted the way of socialization, perceptions and experiences of the narrators around the culture of rape. The present research is a manual for understanding the specific conditions, while at the same time it could also trigger further investigation.
