Digital Applied Theatre and Refugees
Summary:
Applied Theater has had a significant position in the last thirty years in worldwide literature. A large number of books, articles and conferences study this unconventional use of theater whether in therapy, education or even business management. It combine a wide range of theatrical actions with multiple goals. This essay explores modern creative ways of approaching Applied Theatre with the main research interest being focused on the utilization of digital technologies and especially Digital Storytelling as a tool to approach the Refugee from the perspective of the oppressed, as well as to build a network of acceptance, trust and common core with the host community. The starting point was the fundamental question, whether and under what conditions it is possible to exploit digital storytelling as a tool of Applied Theater in communities with a refugee background in order to cultivate collective responsibility and sharing a common experience. Thus, through the interdisciplinary, multimodal and multiprism approach of the field called Digital Applied Theater and Refugees, the reader will draw his/her own answers emerging from his/her own unique, creative and unpredictable scientific and social background.
