Injuries of kitesurfing in Greece
Summary:
In the present study, reference is made to the injuries that occur in
Greece in the sport of Kitesurf. An attempt was made to aggregate results with
questionnaire given to Kitesurf riders in Greece. 140 participated
riders in the period March-May 2022. The main questions of the research were the
analysis of the dangerousness of the sport, if proper training of the riders helps
in the safe conduct of the sport and whether the development of equipment has helped the sport
to become safer. Also in the study there is a presentation of the basic equipment
of the sport, comparing the questionnaire with previous questionnaires they have
done abroad, reference to ways to prevent injuries and reference to the correct one
training of young riders. The results of the respondents show that they consider the
sport as not so dangerous, but most of them were riders who the
their level was intermediate and advanced.Although riders consider the sport that
it's not that dangerous, there are reports that some riders never did it again
Kitesurf, something that causes great concern. Most of them have
trained by some specialized teacher or school and we can say that with her
proper training can avoid fear of the sport and injuries.
