Summary:
Immigrants' access to health care services is a key issue for the health care systems of Europe and especially Greece. This thesis presents the National Health System (E.S.Y) and the services it offers, the separation of the terms "refugee", "immigrant", and meantime it describes the legal framework for the use of health services by immigrants in the community and at the national level.
In particular, this study focuses on the obstacles that refugees and immigrants encounter when seeking health care in health care services, through a literature review and then through the implementation of a qualitative study, it highlights the factors that affect health care, difficulties, positive challenges and the proposed measures and interventions from health care professionals’ point of view. The conclusions lead to the comparative view of accessing and providing health care for both sides.
