Summary:
The national homogeneity of the Greek people, the presence of a dominant
ethnocultural bond, has been one of the factors that have so far prevented to a certain
extent the academic research from the point of view of the sociology of law in terms of
approaches to the emergence and evolution of the Greek citizenship, the legal bond that
unites Greeks with their nation state. Hellenes abroad generally belong to the type of
mobilized diaspora: they are interested in the fate of the homeland and tend to be active
in the host countries to support national issues. In this respect it differs from other
diasporas, which distance themselves from the affairs of the country of origin. In other
words, it is self-evident that the following is commonly accepted: "that the vast majority
of Greek citizens are - and should probably be - Greeks by origin, Orthodox Christians
by religion and of course Greek-speakers, shareholders and heirs of Greek culture »;
This is where our study begins, and it is natural to justify the interest of sociological
theorists to focus on examining other key points in relation to Greek identity, such as
the rich history of Hellenes Abroad in Egypt, the establishment and the evolution over
time of the aforementioned Greek community abroad and their relations with the Greek
state that are not confined only in the context of the simple exercise of foreign policy
and strengthening - the strengthening of diplomatic relations of these states .... In fact
if we receive given the current reality as it has been formed, we cannot overlook the
use of new technologies, in the context of both the rationalization of the entire operation
of this project, and the saving of resources, due to the dispersion that exists in every
region of Egypt. Hellenes Abroad .... for the strengthening of the ethnocultural bond,
as a minimum, necessary element for the preservation of Greek education, identity and
ties with Greece ....
