Summary:
In this diploma thesis, some of the most important films of the Greek Weird Wave movement are analyzed from the perspective of gender. More specifically, it analyzes the work of Yiannis Economides (Spirtokuto, Maherovgaltis, Psihi sto stoma, Stratos) as a harbinger of the Weird Wave movement, the Greek productions of Giorgos Lanthimos (Kynodontas, Alps) but also his first two international productions (Lobster, Death of the Sacred Deer) which retain characteristics of the movement, the film Attenberg, by Athena Rachel Tsangaris, the films by Panos H. Koutras: Strella and Xenia and the film Miss Violence by Alexandros Avranas.
