Beethoven's vocal music with emphasis on the oratorio "Christ on the mount of olives" and its English version. A historical approach.
Summary:
This thesis focuses on one of the few (compared to instrumental music works) vocal works of the great Beethoven. It is a work of deep emotional and compositional maturity. In this work, after setting the context around which the creator composed this work, citing the necessary biographical data, details were also presented as to his general compositional mark, with partial commentary on his most important vocal music works and the details surrounding the course of the oratorio over time. Finally, it was analyzed on a mixed level, musical and expressive, in which it is examined how the composer's music touches and many times overcomes any weaknesses of the Libretto.
