The correlation of C reactive protein and surgical stress in patients with neurosurgical and maxillofacial problems
Summary:
The aim of this study is to determine the correlation between surgical stress and the variation of C reactive protein as indicated by a quantitative study conducted in patients who underwent surgery at the Department of Neurosurgery and Maxillofacial Surgery of Attikon General Hospital. The parameters are studied as determined through the international literature and published articles dealing with the subject. Extensive reference is made to the definition of surgical stress, with analysis of the individual parameters, physiology and the stages that distinguish it. The structure and properties of the C-reactive protein are identified. In addition, the cases of neurosurgical and maxillofacial problems included in the study are analyzed. The data used in this study were collected from the information system of Attikon General Hospital and analyzed using the IBM SPSS Statistics 20 program, and the research tool t-test was used for correlation. The time frame set was a seven-month period, from March to September 2019. The methodology used to conduct the study was the survey methodology as defined by the literature. After clearly identifying the research question and limitations, reviewing the existing literature, statistical analysis of the data was conducted.
