This paper attempts to trace the phenomenon of libertinage in works of the modern Greek literature, during the Enlightenment period. The first part explores the concept of libertinage and briefly describes the socio-ideological background in which it is formed. The second part identifies the libertarian elements in literary works and attempts to interpret them.
