Summary:
This thesis focuses on wheelchair basketball and presents a comprehensive analysis of the psychophysiological parameters, regulations, technical skills and tactics of the sport. The Paralympic Games consist of the majority of the sports of the Olympic Games, with the difference that they are composed of athletes with motor, mental or visual disabilities, for this reason there are some changes in the regulations, techniques and tactics of each sport due to the specificities. There are several similarities between Paralympic Basketball and Olympic Basketball, in terms of execution of technical skills, tactical approaches and physical condition. Researches are mentioned where they analyze the cooperation of the pick and roll in Olympic Basketball in terms of the effectiveness of the cooperation, the choice of the athletes during the cooperation and also the defensive efficiency. Below are research studies comparing Paralympic and Olympic Basketball In addition, research studies are presented on the use of pick n roll in Wheelchair Basketball and Olympic and Paralympic basketball are compared, where it is observed that Paralympic Basketball athletes are superior in psychological factors as well in technical training, as well as a high performance in physiological parameters. Then the method of video analysis is developed in terms of its definition, the data collected but also its importance and its effectiveness in sports and especially in Basketball. The usefulness of the analysis is the collection of important events during the competition in order to note mistakes, statistics and movements of athletes and coaches, in order to correct or add situations for the progressiveness of the individual, the team and the sport. Finally, the overall statistical results of the teams that participated in the event are presented, as well as the individual statistics of the Greek National Team. By observing the data, the results were analyzed creating a conclusion for the rationale of the percentages of the statistical data and also for the development of the sport of Paralympic Basketball.
