Loss and bereavement. The Contribution of the Exodus Sequence as a Communicative Theology of Death Mourning.
Summary:
Sadness and mourning caused by loss are among the most difficult emotions that someone is called upon to process. Small or major setbacks, job loss, separations, divorce, loss of health, old age culminating in the painful experience of the death of a loved one are some of the losses in life.
The grieving process caused by the loss becomes more difficult in an age dominated by the culture of happiness. The healthy faith seems to be an ally in a successful coping with loss and grief. The Exodus Procession, with the recognition of the pain caused by death but also the hope of the continued existence and resurrection of the loved one contributes positively to the process and overcoming of death mourning.
