The Rhetoric of Fake News in Greece during the coronavirus period
Summary:
The present Master’s thesis on: "The rhetoric of Fake News in Greece during the coronavirus period" is a research that explores the ways of transmitting Fake News, their rhetoric, interaction with users, the psycho-cognitive effects on them and how to deal with misinformation.
The Covid-19 pandemic, in addition to the enormous psycho-social and economic effects on humanity, with its rapid transmission and thousands of deaths, has also created a fertile environment for the rapid transmission of fake news. Although it is not a new phenomenon, technological advances and social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter or YouTube have provided fertile ground for the creation and dissemination of fake news.
The present research attempts to contribute to the confrontation of the fake news by investigating their rhetoric, their confrontation and the action of the Greek Hoaxes against them. The data which are presented in this research, were collected from bibliographic reports and results of research and valid internet articles.
